Explore Twenty-Nine Fresh Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)
Everyone's beloved pizza-eating heroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The well-known trading card game's company, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.
Check out here at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful context. Everything mentioned below launches on March 6, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards
Before diving into all the various unique products and collections available, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a couple of surprising details. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which gamers can play powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a bit (It counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but chances are we'll see Sneak in future sets moving forward.
Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior designer explained. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”
That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four cards with special art designed exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.
Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards outside of your main deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.
In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:
As per the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they were careful to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the design for 15 months and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and what other sets would be near it in Standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to ensure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype built around artifacts.
“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he says.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards who could work as your commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out for yourself:
This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, although that could easily go up based on popularity. Sources indicated that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which means an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck includes 37 lands.)
How will the TMNT edition of Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.
Standard Bundle (Regular)
Typically, the company is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

Pizza-Themed Bundle
Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

- 25 Regular pizza lands
- 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. In total, there are six different pizza promos available.
This special bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Night

Turtle Team-Up
Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to develop Magic products specifically for new players. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The concept here that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
